Recording Recovery

Recover unsaved or interrupted recordings in Meelio.

If a recording was interrupted (app crash, network issue, or unexpected shutdown), Meelio can often recover the unsaved audio.

How Recovery Works

Meelio automatically backs up recording data locally during a consultation. If the recording wasn't properly uploaded after stopping, the backup is preserved.

Recovery Notification

When Meelio detects an unsaved recording, a warning appears on the Dashboard:

  • Warning banner — "You have unsaved recordings"
  • View button — Opens the recovery page

Recovering a Recording

  1. Click View on the Dashboard warning
  2. The Recovery page shows all unsaved recordings with details (date, approximate duration)
  3. For each recording, you can:
    • Retry — Attempt to upload the recording again for processing
    • Delete — Permanently remove the unsaved recording

When to Retry

Retry works best when:

  • The original failure was due to a temporary network issue
  • The app crashed but the recording file is intact
  • You had a brief interruption during upload

When to Delete

Delete when:

  • The recording is no longer needed
  • Retry has failed multiple times
  • The recording was a test or accidental recording

Preventing Recording Loss

To minimize the risk of lost recordings:

  • Ensure a stable internet connection before starting consultations
  • Keep Meelio updated to the latest version
  • Don't force-quit the app during active recordings
  • Enable Prevent computer sleep during recordings in Settings
