Consultations
Auto-Stop & Silence Detection
How Meelio detects when a meeting ends and can automatically stop recording.
Meelio can detect when a consultation appears to have ended based on silence, and optionally stop recording automatically.
How It Works
- Meelio monitors audio input during the recording
- If no speech is detected for a configurable period (default: 3 minutes), Meelio shows a notification asking if the meeting has ended
- If you don't respond within the auto-stop delay (default: 1 minute), recording stops automatically
- If you respond or resume speaking, recording continues normally
Configuring Silence Detection
Go to Settings → Recording & Transcription to adjust these settings:
Meeting Ended Detection
Toggle this on or off. When enabled, Meelio will prompt you when silence is detected.
Silence Timeout
How long Meelio waits without speech before showing the prompt:
- 2 minutes
- 3 minutes (default)
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes
Auto-Stop Delay
How long after the prompt before recording stops automatically:
- Disabled — Prompt only, no auto-stop
- 1 minute (default)
- 2 minutes
- 5 minutes
When This Is Useful
- Video call consultations where you might forget to stop recording after the patient disconnects
- In-person consultations where the conversation has naturally ended
- Preventing unnecessarily long recordings that waste processing time
Disabling Auto-Stop
If you prefer to always stop recordings manually, toggle off Meeting ended detection in Settings.
